A Broken Life (Caged Angel Films) came to Optix for three things: Colour Grading, Visual Effects and Title Design.
The visual effects were handled by Laurence Cymet and Mark Driver, who were asked to digitally turn Toronto's streetscape into New York City.
Lastly, Senior Grading Artist David Hedley handled the challenge of keeping a film shot out-of-order feeling like one long continuous day.
The creative team at Optix designed and executed the opening of this feature film. This piece involves a long shot of a bathroom mirror that gets washed away to black over the course of the opening titles. Our CG team shot plates of water dripping off the glass and mixing with digital effects resulted in the final look. Text animation and effects plus film grading completed the opening titles.
